I have a 34nm Version and it worked

Do you get a error message or is your F120 not detected by the update program?

F120 gets detected by the update program, but when i try to start the update it says : "Firmware for this drive not found in package".
A lot of people on Corsair forums complain about this.
Apparently, they are working with SandForce on fix for 34nm drives .
Could it be that your drive is 25nm?
When have you bought it?

There is no F120 with 25nm, the 25nm version is called F115!
I bought my F120 in January -> one month before Corsair launched their 25nm versions

You are right, it's F115.
I've tried generic instead of Intel ahci drivers, and all the other suggestions I could find online and it does not get updated.
Guess I'll wait and see if they could provide alternative update package as they did with firmware 2.0.
Anyway, it is good news that sleep is now working properly with 2.4

If it is not too much to ask, could you make a post about succsesfull firmware update at Corsair forums. It could start a valid discussion about firmware 2.4 update issues.

There are some people on the Corsair forum who have successfully updated their 34nm version and they reported it there. But there hasent been a good discussion about why...

No problem, i would like to have helped you better but there isnt any solution i know for this problem

I hope they will provide alternate update file as they did with firmware 2.0, so I can ditch this F120 to my laptop and "award" my desktop with one nice Samsung 830.
As long as sleep is not working properly I can't do it.
Yellowbeard over at Corsair forums says that they are working with Sandforce to resolve this issue.

Ich überlege derzeit auch die 750GB HDD aus meinem XPS 15 durch eine 256GB Samsung 830 SSD zu ersetzen, u.a. auch um ein wenig Energie im Betrieb einzusparen.

In einem anderen Review habe ich nun gelesen, dass die 830 SSD unter den SSD doch eher ein Stromfresser den Stromsparer ist.
Sie verbraucht im Idle 0,61 Watt und unter Last 4,93 Watt.
Das sind sogar im direkten Vergleich mit herkömmlichen HDD recht beachtliche Werte (z.B. WD VeloCiraptor 300GB: Idle 0,44 Watt, Last 6,89 Watt).

Weiß jemand von euch zufällig, welchen Stromverbrauch die im XPS 15 verbauten 750GB HDDs haben?

Ich glaub nicht das sie soviel mehr verbraucht als ne HDD, welche immer Energie braucht um die Platter in Bewegung zu halten...
Und eine SSD läuft öfters im Idle als eine HDD, da sie die Daten schneller bereitstellt und so nicht solange Arbeiten muss!

Ich finde es aber interessant, das fast jede Seite auf andere Werte kommt xD Die einen: 0,6-4,9W; dann 0,4-5,2W; dann 0,4-3,6W; dann 0,5-3,2W
Solche Toleranzen gibts bei Elektronik eigentlich nicht... Warscheinlich messen die alle mit 0815 Messgeräten die in dem Bereich 10% oder mehr Toleranz haben :rolleyes:
